Roller support for long, heavy horizontal translator loads
The roller support carries the cantilevered weight of a heavy payload on a horizontally mounted linear translator. An adjustable arm mounts to the translator and holds a pair of vee rollers under the extended tube, so the tube rides on the roller as the translator moves. This reduces sag and deflection at the far end and takes load off the bellows and bearings. To support the translator and drive themselves, see the Support Stand for Horizontal Translators.
Each roller support is custom-fit to the translator, flange size, stroke, and payload, and is paired with a single axis translator such as the BLT Slim series (shown above is a beamline foil changer mounted on a BLT60S linear translator).
