Joins two tapped-hole CF flanges with the shortest practical length

Two CF components with tapped bolt holes, such as tapped ports, double-sided flanges or tapped-flange devices, can't be bolted directly to each other. The MTS Tap-to-Tap Short CF Adapter, also called a close coupler or double-sided coupler, joins them with two knife edges back to back and a minimal gasket-to-gasket length. That keeps the stack-up short and adds little to the working distance of whatever is mounted beyond it.

Our version is designed around standard 12-point ratcheting combination wrenches. The bolt heads and the clearance around them leave room for a ratchet, so the adapter can be assembled quickly even where an open-end or hex key would only get a fraction of a turn per swing.

Typical uses include mounting a device with a tapped flange onto a tapped chamber port, joining two tapped components such as McMulti multi-port adaptors and UHV cubes, and replacing a full-length nipple where space is tight.
